Webelos Outdoor Leaders Training (OWLS) for Webelos Den Leaders and Pack Leaders, sponsored by the Foothills District, but anyone from anywhere may attend.
This hands-on program gives adult leaders the practical outdoor skills they need to lead Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts in the out-of-doors. Attendees learn and practice how to set up a campsite, pitch a tent, hike, cook outdoors—all the skills necessary to see the Outdoor component of the Scouting program come to life.
Attendees receive credit for both OWL (Cub Scout) and IOLS (Boy Scout) training.
Who should attend?
- Required training for leaders camping with Webelos
- Strongly recommended for Troop Committee members and parents
Check-in begins promptly at 7 AM. This is an outdoor course, so dress appropriately for the weather. Although your Scout uniform is not mandatory, it is encouraged.
Bring a water bottle, note pad, writing utensil and camp chair to sit on. You will receive course information in pdf format on a memory stick.
We will be making Silver Turtles for lunch. We provide ground beef, potato, carrot, onion and yellow squash. This combo can be made without the meat for a meatless meal.
Spices will be provided and you will make your own Silver Turtle. Email me if you have a dietary need that requires you have something other than the above.
