Foothills District Training

  • The Foothills District has a very active training program. We believe that every scout deserves a trained leader.  Adult Leader Training Descriptions: 

New Leader Essentials – All New Leaders need to take at least once (also, online).

Youth Protection – Adults working with Scouts need to take every 3 yrs. (also, online).

Cub Leader Specific – Training for following Pack Leader positions – Cubmasters, 

            Committee Chairs, Den Leaders, Tiger Coaches.

Scoutmaster Fundamentals #1, 2 & 3 and OLT  - Adult Leaders in a Boy Scout Troop – Scoutmasters, Asst.Scoutmasters, Troop Committee, any Adult working with Scouts.

Troop Committee Chair – Required for Committee Chair (also, online).

Webelos Leader Training Parts 1 and 2 (Thursday evening and weekend – OWL) –

            Required for Webelos I and II Leaders.

B.A.L.O.O. – Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Training.  At least 1 adult in each Cub Scout

            Pack MUST be B.A.L.O.O. trained to take the Pack camping.

Boy Scout Leader Recertification – Learn about updated policies (suggested

            every 5 years).

  • Thursday September 18, 2008 - RSBC Scoutmaster Fundamentals (SALT) #2 6:30 – 9:30
  • Thursday October 2, 2008 – RSBC
    • Scoutmaster Fundamentals (SALT) #3 6:30 – 9:30
    • Webelos Leader Training - Cancelled
  • Friday October 17, 2008 through Sunday October 19, 2008 - Directions will be handed out at SALT #3 
    • Outdoor Leader Training (OLT)
    • Outdoor Webelos Leader Training (OWL) - Cancelled
  • Thursday October 30, 2008 – RSBC
    • Cub Scout Specific 6:30 – 9:00
    • Boy Scout Leader Recertification 6:30 – 9:00

Spring 2009 Training Dates:

  • Thursday, February 19, 2009 - RSBC
    • Boy Scout Leader Recertification 6:30pm to 9:00pm
  •   Saturday, February 28, 2009 - RSBC
    • New Leader Essentials  9:00am to 10:30am
    • Youth Protection  10:45am to 12:00noon
    • Cub Scout Specific  1:00pm to 4:00pm
  • Thursday, April 2, 2009 - RSBC
    • Scoutmaster Fundamentals (SALT) #1  6:15pm to 9:30pm
  • Thursday, April 16, 2009 - RSBC
    • Scoutmaster Fundamentals (SALT) #2  6:30pm to 9:30pm
    • New Leader Essentials  6:30pm to 8:00pm
    • Youth Protection  8:15pm to 9:30pm
  • Thursday, April 23, 2009 - RSBC

  • Friday, April 24th to Sunday, April 26, 2009 - Outdoor Leader Training (OLT) and Webelos Outdoor Leader Training Part 2 of 2 (OWL) - Location To Be Announced

    • Parts 1 & 2 MUST both be completed by Webelos Leaders to be trained.
