Scouting for Food is the Atlanta Area Council's annual service project to collect food for distribution to the hungry in our community.  In Foothills, our collected food is donated to food bank organizations such as Storehouse Ministries.  All units are encouraged to participate.  Download the Flyer for complete details.

Venturing Crew 204 has 4 coed slots open for the June 2-8, 2012 Bahamas SeaBase Sailing Adventure.  These slots can be one registered leader and three youth venturers, or up to four youth venturers.  Maximum cost is estimated to be $1850.  Includes Airfare from Atlanta to Marsh Harbor, Abacos, Bahamas for a week of sailing.  Swim test, Uniform and valid US passport required. Must be able to register as a venturer (Completed 8th grade and 13 by time of travel.)

The National Advancement Team has announced a complete rewrite of the main policy publication for advancement.  The current Advancement Committee Policies and Procedures will be replaced by the new Guide to Advancement.  New policies will be in effect as of January 1, 2012.  This is particularly of interest to Eagle Scout candidates, since the Eagle Scout Service Project Workbook has been significantly rev

All Packs, Troops, Crews, Teams, or other registered groups are urged to send representatives to Roundtable this week to pick up your unit's re-charter packet and learn about the re-charter process.  Re-charter guru and Commissioner Jim Clay will give a short presentation on the process and answer any questions that you might have.  The packets will be distributed toward the end of Roundtable after the program. 

The Kiwanis Club of Marietta presents a 2-day event on September 10 and 11, 2011 commemorating the 10th anniversary of the September 11 attacks. On September 10, there will be a Processional of Flags from Grace Community Church on Kennesaw Avenue to Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park - assemble at Grace Community Church at 7 am. On Sunday, September 11 there will be a memorial service and reading of the names and ringing of the bells at Kennesaw Mountain. The Kiwanis Club invites all Scouts and their families to participate in this event.
