Scouting for Food

Scouting for Food is the Atlanta Area Council's annual service project to collect food for distribution to the hungry in our community.  In Foothills, our collected food is donated to food bank organizations such as Storehouse Ministries.  All units are encouraged to participate.  Download the Flyer for complete details.

Cherokee-Pickens District Pinewood Derby

Please see the attached flier for the Cherokee-Pickens District pinewood derby.  It is sure to be a fun-filled day with a state of the art track and tons of simple blocks of wood turned lean, mean racing machines. We would love for as many scouts [and their parents] as possible to attend.

Re-Charter Packets to be available at Foothills Roundtable

All Packs, Troops, Crews, Teams, or other registered groups are urged to send representatives to Roundtable this week to pick up your unit's re-charter packet and learn about the re-charter process.  Re-charter guru and Commissioner Jim Clay will give a short presentation on the process and answer any questions that you might have.  The packets will be distributed toward the end of Roundtable after the program.

Great fun and adventure awaits with games, a movie and a campfire in the Amphitheater. At only $10 per Scout, it's a great weekend get-a-way with your fellow Scouts. Field of Flags September 10-11, 2011

The Kiwanis Club of Marietta presents a 2-day event on September 10 and 11, 2011 commemorating the 10th anniversary of the September 11 attacks. On September 10, there will be a Processional of Flags from Grace Community Church on Kennesaw Avenue to Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park - assemble at Grace Community Church at 7 am. On Sunday, September 11 there will be a memorial service and reading of the names and ringing of the bells at Kennesaw Mountain. The Kiwanis Club invites all Scouts and their families to participate in this event.
