New Special Needs Scouting Committee Formed

BSA's policy is to provide a quality character development program for as many youth as possible. Foothills District has created a new committee to provide support to Foothills Scouters and Units on issues related to serving Scouts with special needs.

Our initial plans are to provide materials for Roundtable on Special Needs Scouting, support for advancement committees on possible accommodations and alternative requirements, and training for Scouters. We are planning to have a day-long training on Special Needs Scouting either in the late winter or early spring.

Cub Scout Parents Orientation Guide

For families just starting out in Cub Scouts, and for Pack leaders helping families get started, we've put together an orientation guide for parents.  The guide explains what the program is about, how packs and dens are organized, and how parents can help contribute to their son's success in Scouting.
