The Atlanta Area Council has introduced the Camp Card program for 2012.  This fundraising program allows scouts to generate funds in preparation for Summer Camp and relieves pressure for units to conduct fundraising activities.  For complete details, download the flyer.

The Silver Beaver is the highest honor a Council can award to a volunteer Scouter.

All units are reminded to submit their completed District Honor Roll forms to receive Chicken Pins at the district banquet.  Download the requirements and instructions to receive your units' award.

The District Award of Merit is given to deserving Scouters who have served their Unit, the District and the community meritoriously.  Recipients are nominated by the fellow Scouters.  The recipient's actions and accomplishments must serve the Boy Scouts of America within the District. Each year the District is allowed to select 4 Scouters
to receive this award.  The Award of Merit is the highest honor a District may bestow upon a District Scouter.

Scouting for Food is the Atlanta Area Council's annual service project to collect food for distribution to the hungry in our community.  In Foothills, our collected food is donated to food bank organizations such as Storehouse Ministries.  All units are encouraged to participate.  Download the Flyer for complete details.

On December 6th, Covered Bridge, Foothills, and Mountain Lake combined to host a Cobb County Golden Eagle Breakfast at the Volunteer Service Center. Sponsored by LGE Credit Union, Gas South, and Waffle House, the breakfast drew approximately 80 people from across the county. Recent Eagle Scout Bradley Fulkerson and Emmy Award Winning broadcaster Bob Rathbun spoke, with State Attorney General Sam Olens hosting the event. Over $34,000 was raised for Scouting!
