Marietta Cemetery Flag Placement Gets Local and National News Coverage

More than 1700 Scouts and adult leaders attended the annual Flag Placement at Marietta National Cemetery on Saturday, May 24. Channel 11 and NBC Nightly News both covered the event. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution has published a Photo Gallery.

Here's the 11Alive News video. At the bottom of this article you can leave us your comments and suggestions about the event.

The story was also picked up by NBC, with a 30-second segment in Saturday's evening newscast. (You'll have to wait for most of the stream to download before you can skip ahead to the segment, at the 18:50 mark.)

Thanks to Bob Cato and all our Scouts

Congratulations to Bob Cato and his team for organizing another great Memorial Day flag placement event. This gets bigger and better every year.

Thanks to all the scouts, adult leaders and parents who participated. It's great that you took this opportunity to serve your community and your country. This is especially meaningful to veterans and the families of those who have served and given their lives. All the better that the news media are giving you the recognition you deserve.
