Cub Scout Roundtable
Roundtables are a form of commissioner services and supplemental training for the volunteers at the unit level. It gives leaders an example for meetings, information on policy, events, training, and ceremonies. Most importantly, Cub Scout Roundtable provides an opportunity to share experiences and enjoy fun and fellowship. As a result, leaders will be able to provide a stronger unit program for their youth.
The Roundtable Commissioner and staff demonstrate elements of model meetings that leaders may pattern for their own den and pack meetings. The roundtable experience will motivate, and enable unit leaders to provide a stronger program for their Tiger Cubs, Cub Scouts, and Webelos Scouts. Roundtable is designed for all leaders!
Roundtable consists of a general meeting, and then separate job specific break-out groups. There are sessions for Tiger, Wolf, and Bear den leaders and assistants; Webelos den leaders and assistants; Cubmasters and assistant Cubmasters; and for Pack Committee members and Pack Trainers.
At these separate sessions, Cub Scout leaders focus on ideas for the core value and outdoor activities. Webelos den leaders get ideas for activity badges, Webelos badge, Webelos-to-Scout transition, and the Arrow of Light Award. Cubmasters focus on the elements of running a fun and well-organized pack meeting, as well as outdoor pack events. Pack leaders concentrate on ways to improve the pack’s overall program.
Roundtables for all scouting programs are held on the second Thursday of every month at the Roswell Street Baptist Church, 7:30 – 9:00pm.
