Chattahoochee River NRA Alien Plant Removal
03/24/2007 - 8:00am
03/24/2007 - 4:00pm
The National Park Service has requested that we work on a new area this year, at the Paces Mill area on Cobb Parkway/Highway 41 and the river. This area is south of Cumberland Mall, where Highway 41 and the river intersect. We will begin registration at 08:00 and work will begin at 09:00.
Paperwork: I have attached a copy of all the forms needed. The Atlanta Area Council, BSA, has dropped the need for the photo permission, and the NPS is requiring only one form now for all volunteers which includes both adults and youth on the same form (Form 301A Interagency Volunteer Agreement) replacing both the VIP Forms 10-85 and 10-89. If you have been particularly diligent and have the old forms out there for the boys to get signed, that is not a problem. Bring the old forms and the NPS will gladly accept them. We still need the completed Application with the roster of names for the NPS. Be sure to read "What to bring" which includes "Where to meet." The Friends of the Chattahoochee are providing us with patches (see patch above) for each participant. The Park Service is excited about seeing the Scouts there since there is so much that needs to be done. This is really a great service for our community!
Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions. Yours in Scouting, Lynn LaBudde ljlabudde
