Eagle Scout Leadership Service Projects
The Eagle Scout Leadership Service Project is different from other Scouting service projects. It has specific requirements for how and where the project may be done, and it involves a paperwork and approval process flow that is unique to Eagle Projects. This overview is intended to help you understand the process in general, and to direct you to resources where you can find more specific information.
The Process
- Select a project.
- Discuss the project with a representative of the organization that will benefit.
- Discuss your project with your unit leader.
- Write your project proposal, using the Eagle Scout Leadership Service Project Workbook.
- Have your project proposal approved by the benefiting organization, your unit leader, and a unit committee member.
- Submit your project proposal to the Foothills District Advancement Committee. (Complete this Contact Form to receive information on how to submit your project).
- After your project has been approved by the advancement committee, you may begin work.
- Complete the Eagle Scout Leadership Project Workbook with information about how you carried out your project.
- Your completed workbook will be submitted with your Eagle Packet, after you have completed all Eagle requirements.
- Your project will be reviewed for final approval at your Eagle Scout board of review (The previous approval was only for your project plan. In order for you to receive the Eagle Scout rank, the board of review must approve the manner in which your project was carried out.)
